With Indigenous Inspiration and Innovative Design, Brazil Unveils Exclusive Yaras Jerseys for the Rugby World Cup

Official supplier Oneallsports creates custom collection for the women’s national team’s World Cup debut

With just 50 days to go before the Rugby World Cup kicks off, Brasil Rugby has announced another exciting update: the uniforms that will be worn by the Yaras in England. Featuring innovative design and a tribute to Indigenous cultures, the exclusive collection was developed by Oneallsports and is now available for purchase on the company’s official website.

The home kit consists of a predominantly yellow jersey, blue shorts, and white socks. The away kit features white as the primary color, with green and yellow accents. One sleeve and the socks are blue, adding a unique touch.

“I think the uniforms are beautiful. What I liked the most were the vibrant shades of the colors. But I could highlight several elements: all the details on the shirt, the shape of the collar, and the different-colored sleeves. You can tell the material is high quality, with fabric that is comfortable for the athletes,” praised team captain Eshyllen Coimbra.

"Competing at the World Cup is more than a personal achievement — it’s a testament to your years of dedication, discipline, and passion. You carry not only your own dreams, but the hopes of every supporter, every aspiring young athlete, and everyone who believes in the power of sport to inspire and unite. In moments of triumph and in times of challenge, remember what brought you here: your relentless commitment, your belief in one another, and the pride of representing something greater than yourselves. The world will be watching — and we already know you will make your family, friends and country proud. Wishing you strength, success, and an unforgettable World Cup.", said David Mendelsohn, CEO & Founder of Oneallsports.

While the V-neck design pays homage to traditional jerseys, the use of different-colored sleeves showcases originality. One of the standout features of the new collection is its connection to Indigenous culture—closely tied to the women’s national team, which has been known as the Yaras since 2013, a reference to the mermaid of Amazonian folklore.

The print was created in collaboration with Indigenous artist and designer Auá Mendes, who drew on symbols from the Tupi-Guarani cosmology to represent the strength and ancestry of the players. The design blends the concepts of YBY (island) and YARA (lady of the waters). Together, YBY YARA means “the one from the land of waters.” Every element carries symbolic meaning: the scales, for example, represent movement, cleverness, and continuous learning, while the tortoise shell symbolizes protection, unity, and history.

With a focus on sustainability, Oneallsports used eco-friendly materials in the production of the kits. The main goals are to inspire athletes and fans to make conscious choices and to engage with the idea of a more sustainable future.
As the first South American team to play in the Women’s Rugby World Cup, the Yaras are in Group D and will make their debut on August 24 against South Africa. On August 31, they face France, and Brazil concludes the group stage against Italy on September 7.
